Atlantic Highlands, NJ – In order to correct misinformation in a press release by Matt Doherty and Jim Reilly, Assemblyman Steve Corodemus (R-11) wants to inform the two candidates that prior to this calendar year, State law required that only contributions over $400 be disclosed. “Let’s review,” said Corodemus, “until this calendar year only contributions over $400 were to be disclosed.” “By attacking my running mate and I, Doherty/Reilly tried to shift the focus from their ELEC report, which shows that contributors to their campaign include the members of the pay to play “hit parade” lobbyists, organizations from heavily Democratic Essex county, as well as out of state lobbyists, Assembly Speaker Sires just to name a few who will be rewarded with lucrative State contracts if Doherty/Reilly were elected,” Corodemus pointed out. “The prospects for Doherty/Reilly to be elected are slim if their intentions are to provide favors for their special interest contributors. This just indicates that they are part of the problem.” “Instead of pointing the finger at their competitors, Doherty and Reilly need to concern themselves with the buying and selling of members of their own party,” stated Corodemus. “The Democrat party leaders have shown themselves to have no real interest in ethics reform or property taxes in New Jersey, but to be fully involved when lining their pockets or those of their cronies. Apparently Doherty and Reilly have learned from the example of their party superiors.” “A review of my latest ELEC report will show that I am fully compliant with any State laws about contributions and disclosures,” Corodemus declared. “It is important, now more than ever, that the citizens of New Jersey show, through their votes in November, that they are sick and tired of how the Democrats ‘change how business is done in Trenton.’ We can no longer afford it,” finished Corodemus. #### |
